All things Fall

Written by Sofie Sempels

Fall is fast approaching, which means it’s time for new fashion trends. Even though the 2016 Fall runways were a huge success, we still have no idea what trends will actually come through this fall. That can only be decided by us, but here are some of my personal favourites.

Plaid Coats

2016 Is not the first year plaid coats have come into fashion. However, plaidthis year designers tried to present them in a different way. They made them look much cleaner and subtler than ever before. The coats have become more muted and can really pull your outfit together. Not only did the designers use the print for their coats, they also decided to use it on various other clothing items.

Turtlenecks have been around for years now. Not only are they a fashion
staple in the fall, they are also very versatile. You can basically dress up or even dress down a turtleneck if you have the right elements in your closet. This year designers decided to try something new by styling the famous turtleneck with simple dresses. Opinions on this new trend are very divided, but, personally, I really like it. It’s a very new and unique way of styling the clothing item.

While some of the trends are very new this fall, off-the-shoulder tops are not. They have been around since 2015, but that doesn’t mean that the hype is dying down. The style is very elegant, yet somehow still a little bit sexy and daring. You can style off-the-shoulder tops with almost anything, whether it’s plain blue jeans or a tight-fitted skirt, you can never go wrong.

The last trend I want to talk about is my absolute favourite. Chokers are accessories that can turn an outfit from plain into glam. Depending on your own personal style, you can chose a choker that fits your personality. It doesn’t matter if you’re into the thin silky chokers or prefer the chunky ones, as long as you have something around your neck you are good to go.
